Learning Unraveled

Learning is a lifelong journey that never truly ends. It is the process of acquiring new knowledge, skills, and experiences that allow us to grow and develop as individuals. Whether it is learning a new language, mastering a musical instrument, or expanding our understanding of the world, learning is an essential part of personal and professional growth.

Learning is not always easy, however. It often requires hard work, dedication, and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones. Sometimes we encounter obstacles or setbacks which can be frustrating. However, the rewards of learning are worth the effort.

One of the keys to successful learning is having a growth mindset. This means embracing challenges, persisting through difficulties, and believing that we can always improve and grow. It also means being open to feedback and willing to learn from our mistakes.

Another important aspect of learning is finding the right resources and tools to support our journey. This may include books, online courses, workshops, mentors, and peer support networks. With so many resources available today, it is easier than ever to access information and connect with others who share our interests and goals.

In addition to acquiring new knowledge and skills, learning can also have numerous benefits for our mental and physical well-being. It can help us to build confidence, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve our memory and cognitive function. It can also provide us with a sense of purpose and fulfillment, as we engage in activities that bring us joy and satisfaction.

Ultimately, the key to successful learning is to approach it with curiosity, passion, and an open mind. By embracing the process of learning, we can unlock new opportunities for growth and self-improvement, and enrich our lives in countless ways. Whether we are learning for personal or professional reasons, the journey of learning is a rewarding and fulfilling one that can last a lifetime.

Fear not; math is fun!

For many years, we have homeschooled our own children while I have taught science, math, and engineering across 3 states.

I am excited to come home and be able to offer my math instruction to other families. Knowledge is the only thing no one can take from you. And math knowledge will help you solve problems, enjoy shopping, and understand the world around you.

It’s been a whole decade…

…since I began working as an independent educational consultant. Now, I have the opportunity to share my knowledge across the world at an international conference for educators. I am very excited to share the joy of teaching through game based learning with teachers across the globe.

To mark the first decade of providing services as an educational consultant, I have decided to brand my consulting business and design a new logo. I am looking forward to the future as I continue to reach beyond the walls of my own school to help educators be less stressed and have more fun while teaching.

I invite you to like my Facebook Page and find me on Linked In . I will continue to share bits and pieces of advice for simply learning across those platforms. See you there!

Up a Creek … In the Classroom

Up a Creek In the Classroom is a compilation of real-life advice from the classroom. As an experienced educator, I believe in being realistic in expectations for success during the school year. All students can learn, and all educators are capable. But, it is critical that we SimplyLearn to choose our battles.

This might mean that you file many things in File S, or even that you pick up more than one paddle to row through your journey. I encourage you to sit back, read, and find one new thing you can implement tomorrow in your classroom!

The Journey to Simply Learning

Learning has been my hobby for as long as I can remember. I believe that we are here to be life-long learners through each experience. Each experience is a learning opportunity. Some lessons are easy to learn, and others are more challenging.

I have had my share of easy learning experiences. I have also had some learning opportunities that have taught me hard lessons. Regardless, my goal is simply learning from each experience every day.

This is the start of a new endeavor to share my learning experiences with others. Recently, I completed a terminal degree in Education. And, I want to encourage learning for others. Learning does not have to be difficult. It does not have to be reinvented each day. It can come through simple experiences and perspective.

One of my favorite tools for simply learning is games. My family and I love to play board games together. And, many of our favorites are learning games. Check out our favorite games at www.simplyfun.com/simplylearningwithgames .
